trod is preterit for to tread.
"the two-toed tree toad trod", can be read as :
le crapaud d'arbre à deux doigts piaitine (fait du surplas)...

Il y a un bug avec "trod". Pourrais-tu nous en filer la traduction, please. Il n'est pas dans mes bouquins. Sinon, bel usage de la langue. Chapeau. J
