Happy Braxton

Anthony Braxton, musicien et compositeur majeur de notre temps (à l'égal d'un Duke Ellington, d'un Eric Dolphy, d'un Cecil Taylor), est né le 4 juin 1945. Ce qui suit a été enregistré à Amsterdam le jour de ses septante ans. Trois ans plus tard, on ressort ça des tiroirs. Indépassable.

Recorded at the Bimhuis, Amsterdam on Thursday the 4th of June 2015 Anthony Braxton’s 70th birthday, a fitting occasion for the performance of some of his large-scale pieces. Braxton’s Tri-Centric tentet launched the evening, culminating in a spectacular piece for all 20 musicians. For the first set all the musicians from Tri-Centric play a piece by Anthony Braxton, including himself. After the break all Tri-Centric and Doek musicians join on the stage for another piece by Anthony Braxton.
